Jo Beverley
I know I can always count on Jo to give me a good read.
Suzanne Brockmann
I love Suz's books. She's one of the few authors I will read anything by.
Jennifer Crusie
This woman makes me laugh out loud. And who doesn't need more laughter in her life?
Jill Knowles
Jill writes some of the best erotic romance and horror around. Check her out.
Last Kiss Comics
John Lustig has a twisted sense of humor, even if he is a romantic at heart.
Janni Lee Simner
Janni writes lovely, atmospheric fantasy stories and young adult novels.
Sherrill Quinn
Sherrill's characters stick with you. I found myself thinking about Declan long after I finished Daring the Moon.
Jennifer Roberson
Jennifer is a master of angst. I like everything I've read of hers, and I read almost everything she's written. See if you can find Royal Captive,
now out of print. It was one of the first historical romances I read, and one of the best.
Melanie Rawn
Melanie is an interesting person and an amazing writer. I particularly like her romantic contemporary fantasies.
Brenda Novak
Brenda writes great romantic suspense, and she runs a terrific auction each May to benefit
diabetes research.
Here are some links to websites and blogs I find interesting and informative. And some are just fun.
Books on Writing
I've found the following books to be particularly helpful.
Characters and Viewpoint by Orson Scott Card
-- The title says it all. This is one of the best books I've read on the topic.
Passionate Inkby Angela Knight
-- Although this is written for writers aiming at the erotic romance market, Angela's book covers the basics in a way that is valuable for any romance writer.
On Writing by Stephen King
-- King comes down strongly on the "pantser" side of the debate.
